BIO 201 - Comparative Chordate Anatomy


Phylogeny of the chordates and the evolution of their organ systems through comparative anatomy. Structural modifications are correlated with function and their impact on the evolution of vertebrate phyla. Laboratory includes microscopic study of protochordates and dissection of the lamprey, shark, mudpuppy, and cat as well as detailed study of skeletal material.

Adv Codes: FHR
Prereq: BIO 103, BIO 103L, BIO 104 or equivalent completed with a grade of C- or better within the past 5 years
Coreq: BIO 201L
May be used to satisfy the Organismal or Biology Elective requirement for Biology majors.
